E.W. Carter Photographs
Ed, who sells me postcards, photographs and other ephemera bought these several years ago (ca. 2000) from a Mrs. Berg. She had a store on West 7th Street in St. Paul. There are about fifty glass negatives.
I haven’t been able to find an EW Carter in St. Paul or Minneapolis around 1900 from quick search at the St. Paul and Minneapolis libraries. The 1920 US census finds a 57-year old Edson W Carter, a shade cleaner in a laundry in St. Paul. It sure would be interesting to find out more about his St. Paul/Minneapolis and Montana connections. If you have some information about Carter, please contact me.
In July 2016 I heard from a great-granddaughter of Eugene William Carter. He had photo studios in St. Paul, Minnesota and Oroville, California.
